EPA Approves Trifluralin Registration: Vulpes and Actylis to Supply First US-Made Product Starting 2027

EPA Approves Trifluralin Registration: Vulpes and Actylis to Supply First US-Made Product Starting 2027

With a new US-based manufacturing system, Vulpes is set to provide farmers a price competitive, domestically sourced supply of Trifluralin.

In the US, Trifluralin is one of the most widely used herbicides in agriculture, protecting a vast number of crops. Until now, every pound supplied to US farmers has been manufactured primarily in China and Europe, leaving the industry exposed supply pressures.

Today, Vulpes and Actylis are pleased to announce that the EPA has approved Actylis’s registration using Vulpes’s US-manufactured Trifluralin. This approval opens the way for cost-competitive domestic production, with nationwide distribution beginning in the 2027 growing season.

A Competitive US Manufacturing Breakthrough

Achieving price parity with imported Trifluralin has been extremely difficult for domestic producers. Vulpes broke that barrier; we have built a US-based production route that matches global competitors on cost.

This achievement demonstrates that US manufacturing can stand toe-to-toe with established suppliers—bringing farmers new choice, new security, and a strong domestic alternative.

Reducing Dependence on Foreign Supply

Bringing Trifluralin production back to the US strengthens the agricultural supply chain at multiple levels:

  • Improved supply stability through domestic availability, minimizing exposure to global disruptions

  • Competitive pricing, through innovative chemistry

  • National distribution with Actylis

Beginning in 2027, growers will have access to a reliable domestic source of one of the industry’s most essential herbicides.

A Step Forward for US Agrochemical Manufacturing

Trifluralin’s onshoring is part of Vulpes’s broader mission: to prove that American chemical production can be globally competitive again. By integrating innovation, operational excellence, and partnerships, Vulpes supports the foundation of American agriculture for a brighter, sustainable future.

Together with Actylis, we are committed to distributing reliable, high-quality, US-made crop protection tools to farmers nationally.
